Heat shields for wood-burning fireplaces

Heat shields allow a fireplace to be installed closer to the rear wall by significantly reducing heat emission from the back of the fireplace: just 5 cm from combustible materials and 1 cm from non-combustible materials. This provides additional safety for walls containing combustible materials or in situations where extra protection is required.

Installation flexibility

Additional protection

Heat shields reduce heat transfer to the wall behind your fireplace. Ideal when you need extra protection, for example in timber-frame buildings.

Insulating construction

The heat shields consist of two panels, each made from 1.5 mm thick, double-sided aluminised steel, with an air gap for optimal insulation. They are installed using specially designed spacers that create a protective layer of air.

Integrated design

The heat shields feature the same anthracite-black finish as the fireplace, allowing them to blend seamlessly into the design without compromising its appearance.

Heat shields are available for all Barbas freestanding and plateau wood-burning fireplaces. They can be ordered together with a new fireplace or retrofitted to an existing one.
